Random internet loss, and a un-usable mic =(

Recently, I have been confronted with my internet dropping randomly.
IT REALLY PISSES ME OFF.
It seems that every time something interesting finally happens my internet will drop.
Sometimes it happens from anywhere up to 8 hours to as little as 20 minutes.
I did notice that it happens more often when its hot out.
My cable doesn't go out though, which is good, because then I might have to clean or something! :shock:

My second issue is that my microphone doesn't work with any program on this user account. On my mom's account, it works fine. I've looked through settings, checked to see if I had pc admin, but nothing has made the slightest lick of difference.

This is my 500th post!!! over 100 constructive non-spam posts in under 40 hours! Power to me!

cant help u with the internet thing but i have the same problem with my mic...all the sudden i couldnt use my mic

Wat kinda internet connection u have??

For ur mic, have u guys verified if the settigns for microphone is not muted?

ive broken like 10 mics
i reccomend getting comcast for the internet RARELY goes down and faster than all

I'll ask my step dad about the router thing

the thing is now I dont have internet for the first 30 minutes of me starting my computer
but no one else on the computer has that issue

So you have multiple user accounts on the same pc?

Have you tried creating yourself another account to see if it still happens?

Yes, it still happens. But with my moms account it still doesn't.

maybe something youve got installed on ur account is stpping it..any programs that access the internet?

My connectiong stinks where I am located and this happens to me all the time.

Disconnect the cable from your computer for 5-10 mins. (go fix a sandwhich or something) then restart the computer.

If it still doesn't work Go to your router and disconnect only the cable connected to your computer for about 35 seconds.. If that doesn't work completely turn off your router for about 5-10 mins as well...

Usually mine pops back up after I disconnect the cable from the router.. which happens to be in our basement, but yeah..
