Now comes the main part. My problem
I have a very weak computer (P IV 1.7GHz willamete core, ASUS 9500GE and 256DDR400)... And as you can see I have problems running SRO. And now with europe thing get worse. I know that I have litle RAM memory, so, a lot of data has to be cached in pagefile and that reason for ocassional lagging in game while entering new areas but that lasts for a short time and when that data loads into "real" RAM shuttering stops. And that's not the problem. Problem is starting the game. I used stopwatch and measured how much does it take to enter game. And it takes 4 minutes to load intro scene after clicking "start" in launcher. That's way too long. Before euro i could het ingame in minute or less. And in that intro, performace is awful... At first, there are many white part without textures and framerate during whole intro is, like 2 fps... FPS only increases near the end of intro (that building with trees, last "scene")... FPS is there over 50...
So my question is: Is there any way to speed up loading and entering game??? Maybe there is some way to skip or disable 3d background in login screen with pk2 edit or sth like that.
(Snd btw I spent half an hour searching and reading topic related to .pk2 editing and I nowhere saw anything about editing map.pk2, because I supouse that there's intro located.)
And I have a lot of problems with crashing the game. Somites I get "????" error, and sometimes client just exits, without any message.
