Starting windowed, can't play

Post by potatoe1313 »

I have a problem. The first time I played this, everything went smoothely, but when I went to start up the game again, I ran into this problem:

It forces my display into 800*600 (my ingame settings), starts up the game as a small window.

I have spent over an hour trying to fix it, but I can't quite figure it out.

Any help?

I uninstalled and reinstalled (which required me to re-download the file) and it still shows up incorrectly.

I'm stumped.

try ditching your windowblinds

could be something helping it to be forced into a smaller area.

I have windowblinds too (it came with the Alienware) and I don't experience this problem myself.

Try adjusting the ingame resolution before you load the game (use the Options button in the launcher). Perhaps it's having difficulty also due to your desktop resolution, which may be too large.

Asides from this, you can try updating your graphics drivers and see if that helps at all.

I set my theme to windows classic, and it works fine now.

Thanks for the help. Now that I know that it was my theme that was screwing it up I will try tweaking it to get the best of both worlds.

£2300. That's, what... $4000? Something like that. Very overpriced, and it came with some initial hardware faults, but now everything is sorted out and it's great. :)

Edit: Hey, glad to hear you fixed the problem! :D
