Last two days in a row at the same minute of the same hour the server has lagged to the point where if you're in combat you're good as dead.....WTF?

sounds like a good time for them to schedule a database log file backup following a differential backup at 7:00 that would take about 6 minutes. Differential slows down the server but on most DMBS's LOG files require the database to actually be down momentarily and not accept write commands properly while it's running which causes U to run around in one giant lag spike. So yeah, it's for your safety trust me cuz they have to rollback the server using log file backups and differential backups a lot lol.

ok thanks, it has happened every day for the past week now that i've noticed......some in game say it's been going on for over a month
