If your doing these courses make sure they have video explaining all things you need to learn about the exams cause if its just audio or a cd that they send you where u do all reading, I don't think its worth it. The ones i've seen that i liked are the http://www.cbtnuggets.com/ series.
If your starting out in computer field and don't want to take college route try get these exams. in order
1. A+ Cert
2. Network+ Cert
3. Security+ Cert
4. CCNA
Those 4 will give you enough book knowledge to work in most organizations as a assistant network associate. But I really recommend going through college if possible with Cert's then you'll be golden ^^

those certs are bullshit and anyone who hires based on just those are stupid as all hell. I don't have any certs and I'm still the best computer repairer I know
A+ for example has a whole section on when certain processors were invented. It has almost nothing to do with repairing computers and there's like 2% of questions about viruses and malware and that's about 95% of all computer repair problems. Don't bother with any of those really, just get exp and find an HR hiring guy who's not a moron.
