Who's Stronger?

Post by Skyve »

Hello =)

I recently got my Desktop repaired,it got a new motherboard =)
Now with this new motherboard, there's an intergrated video card(GeForce 7 series),or at least thats what the box says.
I'm having a hard time choosing between which one of my two video cards to use.

My ATI Radeon 1600x Saffire Crossfire or the intergrated GeForce 7 Series?
Is there any ways to know which video card is stronger?(I tried those VideoCard comparison web,my videos cards wern't listed =/)
My Motherboard is MSI P6NGM(Nvidia MCP73 Series Chipset Based,if that can help)

NOTE:Apparently because the GeForce 7 is intergrated into the motherboard,it will have to use memory directly from my computer,so that might be a con.

EDIT:After a little bit of research I think I found the name of the intergrated video card, its an GeForce 7150.

Well uh.. you could always pop the card in then try both? You can hook in the onboard and play a game... then install the drivers for your ATi card, hook your monitor to it and try a game..

The 1600x is probably better to use. It does apparently have 256mb of dedicated memory, while your onboard would use shared memory. 64-512mb according to http://www.motherboards.org/reviews/mot ... 756_5.html

Based on what?I guess like the number of pixels or something, right?
Oh and can I just unplugg my monitor from my ATI and plug it into the Motherboard one and the GeForce will start working?

If you don't have the ATi graphics drivers installed, then yes.. if you do it could be a problem.
Just use the card lol

unboard video cards can't run SRO properly for some reason. My onboard video card is a radeon 3200 and it can run crysis at low settings but in SRO I get like 2 fps.

onboard video cards are only good for web browsing
when it comes to any good game playing the video dedicated card is always better,
the onboard card shared memory will always be slower
it is always better to have faster then slightly better graphics when gaming
