I really need some help...

Post by ryderstrong »

OK, so I've updated my client, and as of yesterday when i open my client it runs through game guard right up to where the game should come up on your screen, but when it gets to this point 2 windows pop-up saying "FALSE" as a title and symbols as text, then after that an other window pops-up with no title and more symbols, it has 2 selection buttons both with a "?" at their name. and I've tried everything from reinstalling SRO to restarting my computer but nothing seems to work. and after this happens it wont let me in the game any ideas??? please i really need some help.

EDIT: it has been a while sense i posted and the problem has gotten worse, my computer has totally crashed and wont turn on; it starts up normally then goes to a loading screen and the a blue page pops-up and the computer re-starts itself, then it just keeps doing that until i manually shut it off.

On Computers with lesser capabilities, this happens. Check your Graphics Card. Upgrade your Video RAM to 512MB, at least. Upgrade your RAM to a minimum of 2GB.

Check your Graphics settings too...

If I am proven wrong, please post your solutions. It would help others with the same problem.

Cheers!

**Blue Screen of Death - when your computer turns on long enough to have a blue screen pop-up saying an eternal malfunction has occurred, in other words your computer is DEAD!

Now I commiserate with you. In any case, I guess it was your OS that was acting up all the time. And you probably have 4GB of RAM, not 3. Do keep this forum informed if, after you have fixed your OS, and you finally get it running, you inform us on how you got it finally repaired.

Hey Wolf, that's new... so what would you advise? I am planning to buy 2 PCs, and load 'em up to 4GB RAM, but with Windows XP. So, it is not advisable to use XP with 4GB Ram? or Do I change to Vista?

I got some help from my aunt, she said that the only way to fix blue death is to re-install my operating system, she also said that it should fix my first problem as well

Yeah.. reformatting will probably fix it, so I guess you've done that and its good now.

@questmaster, windows XP 32bit can only recognize a little over 3GB, I've never heard of extra ram causing a problem though.... it just isn't read. I think the same is true for vista 32bit, but I'm not positive on that. If you're going for over 3GB then get a 64bit OS - there's still lots of bugs and problems I hear about a lot with 64bit OS though, programs not working.. not made for it, etc, but in the near future 64bit operating systems will replace the standard 32bit. then I guess 128bit etcetc.

Thanks, Mouse...

Microsoft is supposedly a Power Hungry OS, but not utilizing over 3GB is quite a laugh. Anyway, Loading it up to 4GB is also due to my anticipation of probable requirements for some other Multimedia Software I'm gonna be using, aside from my desire to play SRO with all its bells and whistles.

SRO programmers probably will not be using an external function to utilize extra RAM, and would probably pass on RAM management to the operating system, so I'll just buy based on your advice.
