Perhaps graphics render problem?

Hey guys!
I wouldn't say I'm knew to SRO, i have been playing for a year or so occasionally, just got a new PC and decided to get back into it.

I'm running an Asus P5Q with Intel DualCore 3.0GHz, 4gig ballistics RAM, nvidia 8600gt for graphics blah blah.

Anyway after downloading the updated SRO client, installing it and waiting for it to update, i don't seem to be able to see anything when SRO is running

The "dock scene" which runs at the beginning looks very sketchy, like the land hasn't been rendered properly, Ive taken screenshots from the intro, character select page and the in game graphics.

And yes, i only last week updated my GPU drivers. PLEASE HELP ME!

if you have updated your graphics drivers, i would suggest messing around with the graphics settings in game and see if that helps, sometimes certain graphics cards have problems with the sro client for unknown reasons.

Well that worked...i had my resolution set at 1024x768, ive only got a 17" moniter, getting a 26" widescreen soon!, so ive set it to 800x600, looks rank tho, reckon i should try 1280x1024?

Is there any way to change my GPU or SRO so it can run at 1024x768?

not really sure, i would try the higher res to see if it works, in options there is a res option.

i have a problem when i play sro i get black bars on the sides of my screen even when i minimize the game. my screen ress is set to 1280-768, but i dont see that ress option ingame. is there a way to make the game ress 1280-768?
