Re: Trojan Virus problem please reply ive looked in other topics
the client is safe theres nothing wrong with it, AVG just thinks its a virus, install the newest update on the AVG site.

I got the same problem yesterday. I clicked "Heal" in AVG and the game wouldnt start anymore. So i reinstall and it does nothing when it finishes. What u need to do is, restart your pc, disable your AVG and reinstall the client. It should work fine. Then just keep your AVG disabled when u wanna play SRO. Maybe until AVG fix it. Hope it'll helps.

Unfortunately it seems to be not AVG's problem, but theres. They don't have a trojen in their program, but they have something that makes AVG think it's a trojen.
The real problem is not that, but the side effects. Even when you install the programs again, regardless if it detects a trojen, it will act like it's installing the program but really won't.

Yeah I have this problem installing on another comp aside from this one... It's pretty lame. I don't know how to fix it. I closed AVG and such and it still happens. It just fake installs.
The weird part is that I successfully installed it, but kept getting error code 5, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall and now it does this.
Edit: With a little investigation, it does actually install the game. It gets all the pk2's installed and then once it gets to Silkroad.tmp it deletes everything and closes. Dunno why, dunno how... but thats what it does.
Here's how you fix:
Creds to rumple XP

What I do = disable the shield thing, get in sro, then turn it back on. It works

I'll try that tomorrow and see how it works. I'm going to bed now; procrastinated enough of my essay as it is. =P

Instead of having to shut down the shield every time you want to play Silkroad...
On the Overview page, double click Resident Shield and at the very bottom it should say "Manage Exceptions" and then click "Add Path". Once there, go through all the mumbo-jumbo of My Computer -> C:/ -> Program Files -> Silkroad Online. Then click "Save Changes".
You don't need to try and add the client file itself, just as long as you have the Silkroad folder highlighted itself it should work fine. Hope that helps some of you.

Re: Omg.. Installs silkroad then disapears HELP please
It is not a virus, avg is seeing silkroad as a threat, IT IS NOT a virus, trust me...Just uninstall avg and install silkroad, it WILL WORK. You will not catch harm to computer when doing so. Especially if you have avg 8.0 there is a glitch in the proxy settings. ^^
