i keep reading somewhere that high level players cannot get drops of raw materials giving low level elements (eg: level 1 elements)
is this correct?
if true, why not?

Well, not exactly. High level monsters do not drop items that give low level elements, and high level players mostly fight high level monsters. When high level players fight low level monsters, they don't get many drops because of the large level difference, and it is a waste of time because they don't get experience. So high level players can get these items, but it is much easier and more efficient simply to buy them.

omg.. you mean the level difference influences the rate of drops?
so the higher in levels you are above the monster the less the number of drops?
wow that does seem to make it harder for high level players to get drops..
thanks bakemaster!
(um you should post some cake recipes.. yum)

OK not to assume anything from what has been posted, but me being lvl 31, does that mean if I focus on orange (like Blood Flowers, Ongs, etc.) that I should get more drops than say white mobs? Or are the drops from mobs flat from white to red?
I always thought the number of drops was the same and only thought the experience varied between levels. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

Well I thought that it was if you fought orange/red monsters you would have a higher chance of a drop that was higher level, but green/white would still give more drops lower leveled but more drops nonetheless because you would be killing more in the same time period.
Correct me if i'm mistaken

I think higher levels need not hunt down super lower lvl monsters to get lower level elementals. They should simply buy the low-level items (3rd~4th degrees) from stalls and use the destroyer rondo. Must haves like lvl 2 wind, lvl 3 wind lvl 2 fire come in at least 25 pcs.

You can get low level elements from drops as a high level.

Yes, but because you also get high level elements, your overall likelihood of getting a lot of any low level element is not very good.

When I want low level elements i just go to the bandit stronghold and pick up drops from other players who are too busy killing bandits. As I am a high enough level their petty srikes don;t bother me i can clean up there. The mangonel fields i will sometimes do or the marshland or near the ferry. I usually sit on my horse and just grab available items. This is also good near the ferry as well.

Wow. Did you really need to bump a year old topic to say "yes"?
