Success rate

Hey all just wanted to know what you guys think. I can';t say for sure, but I think the new success rate for the new alchemy seems to be 25% or less. I have done it maybe 10 times and I had success only twice. Some of my friends tho has had 2/2 sucess. What is your experience?

what percentage of times do you get a failure =
1) weapon is destroyed or
2) stat is decreased?

Posted: Mon Jun 26, 2006 11:53 pm
by JessicaYan
neither, nothing happends if you fail, you keep original stats

The % of assimilation is the chance to change a stat different from the one you're changing, so watch out.

I think the success % is indicated in the stones (30%~10%). Yeah, the new alchemy sometimes sucks hard because of the high failure rate. But I observed something - if the place where you are at in the game is not so laggy. it succeeds (or maybe i'm just getting lucky! :D ). I'm not sure but after trying this out, i have 4 successes for every 7 attempts. But the outcome is not always in my favor. Like there was a time where I attempted to raise my weapon's atk rating (currently at 35%) it went down to 16% and then all the way to 0% ....attempt succeeds but crappy :( :(

it depends on which character I am using one of them is unlucky and after the 3rd failed attempt I went to my other one who out of is successful 4 out of 6 tries that

Very low with Ruby stones.

Around 40% with Jade stones. (knocks on wood)

rubystones are sooooooo much pain! :banghead: you can succeed in the alchemy but most of the time, it degrades the item! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

No, that is the chance for attribute assimilation, which is when you succeed and some other stat also changes randomly. For instance, you use a critical stone, you succeed and it changes the crit and also randomly changes the physical attack on your weapon.

I have done quite a bit of the stone alchemy, and have come to a couple conclusions.

1. Ruby stones suck. the charecteristic of a ruby stone is to RESET the applicable stat, hence returning to zero and at a 'fixed probability" reroll it. ONLY attempt if the stat you are rerolling is at 0%, then the only failiure is no change as opposed to a reversion.

2. the attribute assimilation percentile does seeem to have a factor in the overall success of the alchemy. whenever it is 0-10% chance of success, it always fails.

3. Lucky inventory items make a difference. wearing lucky jewelry and armor makes a difference even when elixing the items that arent lucky. i dont know why, but i wear 2 rings with lucky on them and a set of earrings lucky, since donning these i never fail.

I use only jade tablets, and have mainly applied STR, INT, HP, MP, and Durability blue stats to my stuff. the items i wear at lvl 37 garment give me overall +15 STR, and +10 INT.

What is still unclear to me (and will explain why in this thread) is whats percentage number beside stat on item. Its obviously not difference betwean "normal" and one u have stat since for example my Python Blood Tasset have parry ratio 20 (+0%) and Python Blood Tasset at NPC store have parry ratio 16 (+0%), tried on many more items and i cant figured what its mean.

Now, i tried to alchemy on my blade which orignaly had 17% beside PAttack stat. I hited it with stone and lower it to 3% with some decrease in attack aswel which dont corespodnet to % difference. OK, i failed, i hitted it again and bam managed to reset again but this timr it drop to +0%. After it get to 0% i hitted it with same stone 5 more times and every time got black smoke, failed. On several more items it was always failure if i hitting (+0%) stat with stone.

So i begiin to suspect that (+XXX%) is acctualy some kind of percentage connected to possibility to enchance that particular stat. OK now we move to "blues" enchntment every INT or STR have +0% for 1, +33% for 2 and +66% for 3, What a heck is that then? Then i get: Parry Ratio 30% increase (100%) blue add on on my tasset, Whats that now?

Im completly confused, does anyone have anything about this?

i have failed with 2 int increase stones, 2 str increase stones and 1 fire resistence stone. non of these items were affected and maintained original state.
I have had success with 1 str increase stone (+4 strength to my shoulder) and one success wth 1 ice resistance stone (3% frosbite resistence)..
so ive succeeded 2/7 = 28%

so I did some reading and doing, and here is my conclusion, just based on my self experience.

The (+xx%) next to each stat indicates the enhance % from the item's initial base. For example its my blade does 100-130(+0%), enchanced would be 104-134(+24%). Note:the base dmg of your weapon can vary, meaning the same blade can come with 100-130(+0%), or 94-124(+0%)

With alchemy, when rerolling +%, I can conclude that the successrate is about 25%. Also it is more likely it would likely reroll towards 0%, as to 100%.

And about blue stats, say parry +30%(+33%)<--this mean you can further enhance it to be parry + 50% (+80%)

well hope that answered a few questions, and I was the one that started this thread

Another question...I have a Jewel of Str lvl3. It says Lvl of Degree:3. I know it's telling me what level it is, but my question. Does this mean I can only use it on 3 Degree items?

can you use lucky powders with alchemy stone enhancements, and does a lucky attribute on the equipment affect the probability of success?

no to both questions

i've done it to my chest protector twice and both is a success
but i never succeed in physical reinforce and magical reinforce.
every time i do, the value goes down.
what really pissed me off is once, i done it with a lvl 21 +5 ring and its been destroyed :x
but it's save to do it with the tablet which says something like 'increase'
it's not too save to do it with the tablet which says 'resets'

Kay. Let me just get this straight:
You resurrected a topic more than a year old so you could post, "lol"?
I think that if you don't have anything constructive or useful to post, don't post it. :]

Okay, let me clear whats i'm up to. I was searching for a post where i cud find the meaning of the "%" additional on each attribute of a weapon. Then i found this link and kinda lighten me for a while even if its a year old post. So i don't see any problem with that.

its all random...i've done so much alchemy and i have yet to see a pattern

each alchemy session yields a different percentage of success.... it not constant

There`s not a fix probability...It depands if you have lucky on item or if you have luck:)) You can be a lucky guy and make 2/2 and other time to make 2/20:))
