What is a debuff?

I've heard that the Force tree is good for buffs, debuffs, heal, etc.

So what would be an example of a debuff?

debuff = decay, bleed, division etc

Debuffs make u lower ( phy def , mag def , attk rating etc.)
Buffs make u stronger ( opposite of debuffs )

u make the enemy weaker with debuffs... so they will have less def/attack, and u can kill them easyer
