it depends...

Say you only have 3 million gold..

You see something that you KNOW is worth 1 million but its selling for 500k. You buy it and you can make a 300k or maybe more profit. ( sometimes i dont usualy sell around other peoples prices, a bit lower )

Thats an example on buying cheap and selling more.

You dont want to spend all your money because you never know when you'll need it most.

1-2 D arnt usualy in demand so i suggest maybe 4-9D if you can afford it.

If you dont have any patince dont try this. It might take awhile for someone to buy your item.

Hope everyone finds this useful.

one of my friend quit and give me 100m. i start buying low and sell high and now i make about 100-200m per week on profit. 24/7 stalling ftw. I only buy last tier stuff. making 5-20m profit per item is soo easy..try it..and if u can't stall 24/7 it's hard. I alway clear about half my stall per day( that's 24 hours) and profit range from 3-20m per item depend on what it is. and by the way, try to buy items that are most in demand like last tier garments, 85 glavie, 85 bow, 85 blade and shield...those items are hot and sell fast. Don't even think about buy euro stuff. it's very hard to sell. And when u can't find any of those items above to sell, look for str and int stones 9d, etc, etc. Once you been in buy low and sell high business long enough u know what i mean. And u will know what items u can sell and can't sell...trust me.

That's all well and good if you have a generous friend, or if you've been playing long enough to accumulate wealth which is what the OP is trying to do

Money making topics/queries are never ending in MMO forums and usually the answers end up the same

'buy low, sell high'
'buy top lvl gear and pimp it for a profit'
'don't worry about money - it comes with lvl'

All v true, and all totally useless and irrelevant to the (literally) poor newbie who's trying to scratch together a few crumbs to buy pots, or arrows, or first decent bit of gear

Fact is, it isn't easy at first, but money does gradually accumulate.

If you're low lvl and without significant cash, it can seem like a struggle, esp when you jealously spy that v decent gear that another player seems to own at your lvl.

The only reliable piece of advice is...............

.......learn the market prices.

That's the only way to make sure you don't lose out when you sell and improves your chances of spotting a cheap buy that should sell for profit.

Personally I can't be arsed spending the time to do that (and therefore I'm not rich), but I check stall network every time I'm in town so I spot what's available for me and at what price, and I simply make enough by selling drops that I get to provide me with good gear

I don't have a lot of experience in buying low and selling high in this game, I did have a lot of experience in other games.

I got a SoS drop, making me about 2 Mil. You need to get a starting amount, this is most of the time received due to lucky drops or a lot of traderuns.

Well, with my 2 mill, I started buying a few weapon elixers on high times for 400k, and sold them for 475K on the low times. I got myself 2.5 mill, then I was lucky to see a lvl 24 SoS glavie with 11 crit for only 2.5 Mill, I took the 'risk' of buying it, and sold it in 30 minutes for a nice 3 Mill, making me have 4.4Mill now (Few elixer drops and more elixer merchanting)

So, just keep an eye out for nice deals and especially SoS and Elixers because they sell better than normal gear (Not including +5's, etc)

When low lvl the best market to be in is Alchemy. Why? Because alchemy can be used at all lvls, Wind 3 used to be very hot, now wind 4 is hot, so you get to the mob that drops wind 4 and grind. This does two things, one you earn exp, and you get alchemy bags that you can break, and sell the elements.

Use the network to see what the major tabs at high lvls need ie int, str, hp, and look to see what mobs drop said elements(there is a chart somewhere). Unlike items Elements and elixirs stay very stable. Pay attention to the amounts of elements the tabs need, ie, dont sell a stack of 200 water 4 when a D9 MP tab needs 214. Stacks of 250 is a good number.

Alchemy moves quickly, where items you generally have to sit on for a while in order to get them sold.
