ok, i wanted to know: there is a rumour going around, saying that if u buy silk and u bot joymax wont ban u for botting, and if u bot and dont buy any silk they will ban u, so my question is, WILL YOU GET BANNED IF YOU BOT AND BUY SILK?

... and I think they'd like to know the reason WHY you want to know if the rumour is true, before telling you that no one knows for sure what's going on inside the heads of the Joymax employees/management. If you just want to know if there's a safe way to use a bot: sod off.

Btw: any truth to the rumor that legits were banned or is it likely that they were using no-dc or a similar client?

Maybe its true maybe it isn't... but if your plan is to buy 5$ worth of silk and then bot the hell out of silkroad... I'll be happy to report you.

we;; actually my freind has a devil wing dress has bought about 1.6k silk, and he has spent alot of money on the game, i just wanna see all his money go down the drain, but its like most cases are like ppl havent been for botting when buy silk, but im not completely sure, i just wanna know if my freind will get banned or not

If he bots, then hopefully he will be banned. Wether Joymax actually does it, nobody knows.

I can answer this one: Joymax can detect altered clients. The legits that were banned spent most of their time in net cafes. These cafes allow modification of files (including sro files), because of this Joymax banned legits who happened to log in with these modded clients. We also suspect that Joymax preforms bans en'masse by locating IPs from which many accounts are logged into. They then preform a mass account ban, this would explain why they can't find single player bots.

Are you planning on botting? I don't see why a Legit would ask these questions, even if their friend was a botter. I'm going to be very blunt, I have had friends that were botters (back on Alexander) but the last thing I would do is encourage their behavior. Why shouldn't your friend be banned? He is breaking rules, I'm sorry but I can't give you a clear well defined answer until you tell me why you want to know.

nope, actually ive been grinding to 80 and dont wanna risk getting banned so i would never bot, but the reason why i am asking these questions is that. My freind who really just wanted to see what botting was like, so he did it for a bit then he started to keep doing it, i was like, why are u botting dont u know u could get banned? Then he said well im a silk user so they wont ban me, so thus i came here if that was true, and btw he said hes using an ag bot, i mean hes trying to get to 64 for 8thd and hes at lv 59 so i just hope he doesnt get banned

Buying Silk won't effect the chances of being banned. If your friend plays at a net cafe his chances of landing in Joymax' line of fire increases. It is my obligation to help those in need, hopefully your friend will stop.
