Wedding ring quest, killing ongs

Im doing that quest, where you have to kill ongs to recover a wedding ring lost, by the soldier on west gate on DW, but ive killed soo many.
How long did it take you guys?
The few people ive talked about this quest, they say they dropped it cuz it was too long.

its just like finding the sword in the bandit quest. it could take 2 kills or 2000 kills. you can drop it if u want since the quest reward kinda sucks and theres no quest chained to it

well i finally got it, from a giant. The rewards are okay, im sure gonna need all those mp potions tho, so thats good.

got it in like 1/2 hour or so and about 15 minutes into it I got my old pair of SOS protector boots, in my size too.

I got it in about 20 minutes. Was shocked really because some guy told me it took him 4 hours before I started it.

i was killing for 3 hours straight and didnt get it...so i disconnected and cotinued the day after...got it in 15 min
