I plan to buy a new computer next week, so i need to know what it take to play silkroad at max graphic w/o lag. Does silkroad requires a very high end graphic card or a decent one is ok? Please help..ty in advance.. :) :)

You mean ram right...AFAIK there arent even 1 gig graphic cards rofl..

To play it on high..like a 3 gigahertz processor (dual core would be even better), 1-2 gig of ram and a nice videocard..

2 GB of RAM is needed; I notice the swap delay from time to time on my 1 GB system.

Even my 8800 GTX is not capable of running shadows at 1600x1200 without significant frame rate drop, so if you insist on running those you may need a SLI solution. Perhaps Windows Vista with directx 10 solves these problems, but I am not able to check that.

2.2 GHz CPU, on-board video, and a monitor that runs 1400x900? No that doesn't even come close to what you're looking for.

I mean the link above shows a system that isn't even near to being good enough. The other link shows a slightly better system, 2.3 GHz, but an 8400 GS is still not a very fast graphics card. It depends on what you want. I'm sure it will be a big improvement over your current system, but if you want to run silkroad at high graphics (perhaps without shadows, but still), then you need to consider a graphics card that's at least in the 200-300 Euro range. As a comparison: my system was about 1700 Euro, though that was just over a year ago. I figure for a good system capable of running SRO in high graphics (1600x1200 with almost all options at full) you're looking at a pricetag of 900-1100 Euro for your system, and that's without a monitor.

I suggest you have a good look at http://www.tomshardware.com, and read up on the speed of the different components, like CPU, but mostly the graphics card.

Friend got a pc for uhm..close to 600 euro and he can run his client on high, its the ram needed, not so much the videocard. (I dont know if he has detailed shadow's, but who cares actually about it when grinding? =/ )

At what resolution and framerate?

Same problem with the shadows, they are totally messed up i think...

( dual core 2.4 , 2 gb ram , 8800 GTX )

and it s slow like hell .

I play without shadow and everything else at max level.

i used to play sro on almost highest settings on this laptop, tho i
had to always turn of either bloom or shadow. if i play with either
one of those turned on, i can play the rest on highest settings.

my laptop has a dual core amd turion processor. like, one of the first
they built into laptops, but it's powerful enough. i think it's the
turion x2 tl-52 model. i have 2gb of ram. had 1gb in it when i bought
it, but ddr2 ram doesnt cost shit nowadays, so i'll probably put in
some more soon. anywho, 2gb of ram is enough for a game like silkroad.
my current laptop has the nvidia geforce go 7600 gfx card. it's got
256mb memory, dedicated, and it can handle sro. better would be if you
have a card from the geforce 8 series imo.

about the 1gb videocards, well it means they have 1gb shared memory.
so for example, you buy a videocard which says "up to 1gb memory", then
that probably means the videocard itself has 512mb memory, and will take
512mb out of your ram to use it as videocard memory.

It would be nice if people listed the resolution with their settings as well. 1600x1200 has over 40% more pixels to render than 1280x1024, so this has a large impact on graphical performance.

My laptop can run the game on 1440*900 everything on high and its no problemo

Laptop has a core duo, 2 GB RAM and an ATI HD2400XT video card with 256 VRAM

I guess RAM is the main thing, when i upped my RAM on my older PC from 512 to 1024 it was a WORLD of difference

To Arikana : Yes it s the peaople, monsters , and animals shadows.

To phulshof : i can't tell you the resolution i use from here. i think it s 1280*1024.

To cin : The bloom effect is nice to use in the cave , but i don't use it in the cave otherwise it goes too dark :p ( and setting it brighter kills the way it looks )
also i think that the shared memory for graphic card is a setting in the bios named AGP-aperture and only working with "old" AGP cards.

11xx by 8xx (He needs a new monitor) and while grinding like 100-150 fps if I remember it correctly. In hotan down too dunno..30-50 or something.

It sucks more now because he can only play with one core, he dc's when he has both enabled (stupid bug >.<)

That has Windows Vista Home, which lacks everything. Be prepared to upgrade vista or install xp. If you getting a new computer search slickdeals or fatwallet for dell deals you will get a good deal.

128MB graphics card is enough to run silkroad smoothly on high.
