Fastest way to level a Wizard
Fastest way to level a Wizard
Just wanted to ask you wizards what mobs are the best to grind on in order to reach level 64 in the minimum amount of time. I don't want to SP Farm, I'll have enough SP by 0 gapping to 64 for the things I need. I'm level 29 just now but it seems everytime I try to farm on something my own level, or 2-3 levels below, after a few hits, I'm dead. Forgive my stupidity, it's the first time I've ever actually used a euro char...
ALSO I'm Pure INT and using Cleric as a sub.
EDIT: After reading through some guides, I realised that I didn't give you guys enough information in order to help me.
The objective is to raise a Pure INT Wizard that I can use to powerlevel others. I want to raise it to lvl 64 while keeping my masteries at 60. I want to use as little amounts of SP as possible so that I don't have to spend ages farming. The only thing I'll be using it for is PvE, nothing more. Also, could you list the Cleric skills that are essential for leveling myself?

Re: Fastest way to level a Wizard
Are you using life control? You should be able to one- or two-shot things your own level. I have a level 26 wiz/cleric that I play occasionally. For most things it's snow wind to slow them down followed by an earth attack (shock? ground charge?). I can kill multiple enemies this way quickly. By the time the cooldown resets I can move on to something else.
If you're semi-rich grab some 500 hp scrolls. If not, get a cleric to buff you.
If it's solo I do a firebolt followed by icebolt (if they aren't dead already).
Take the first book of charged wind too, imho it's useful to push them away from you.

If faith is a crutch, I'm not limping anymore.

if your soloing make sure your lvling cold and fire, start with ice bolt and finish with fire bolt. Go on silkroadonline.net and look at the mobs and find which ones are non aggressive and those are the best ones to fight, and if you are fighting aggressive mobs dont use life control, but with a decent weapon you should still be killing them in 1-2 hits without life control
with my wizard I can kill 3-4 Generals at once with life turnover on (72+9 staff).

Re: Fastest way to level a Wizard
I'm pretty much always going to be soloing until I reach level 40 or so. Being level 30 just now, there's not really any mobs that are passive. Most of them are aggressive, and the ones that are passive are surrounded by aggressive mobs. What would be the ideal mob to grind on at lvl 30 for a Wizard, and how long would it take to get it up to level 50? Also, are there any Cleric skills I should be investing in to help me ?

Re: Fastest way to level a Wizard
when I lvled I mainly grinded on the chinese side, yes most mobs have agressive and non agressive mixed together, but with alot of them you can find an area were there are mainly non-agressive ones and if you see a agressive kill it first without a AOE attack.
personally at your lvl (upper 30's)I would be fighting maongs on the chinese side and go to the east side of the docks on the DW side, yes they are agressive but there is not giants and no party mobs either, use ice bolt and fire bolt, no AOE attacks and there usually isenough around to keep killing but not too many that you get swarmed.
lvling a wizard solo can be difficult because you have to be selective of which mobs you fight, when you get higher lvl you will be able to handle giants and giant PT mobs on your own if you have a cleric sub, as for you cleric question, make sure you get holy spell, bless, and recovery division, those are the main one you will use and the ones that will stay one you when you switch back to your staff.

Thanks for your reply dude, although I'm lvl 30, not high level 30's. I'll find some mobs to grind on anyway =)

Yeh I've started grinding on them but there's a few party champions around, better than anywhere else I guess.

Re: Fastest way to level a Wizard
if you can get bless for you cleric sub abd recovery division you can tank them, but I think those skills might start at lvl 40 and same with fear and bind for wizard skills, but if your also using ice bolt they should get frostbite or freeze also.

If the generals are positioned correctly, i can 1 hit 5 generals with earth nuke, and life turnover. Im 75 Wiz with +5 Staff
