I'm a pure STR Archer.

For Roc Mountain, should I go protector or garm?

you're pure str ~ I would suggest going garm because the mobs use both physical and magical atks. Being pure str means you already have a formidable physical defense, using garms gives you a great magical defense.

if your grinding at physical based attacking monsters wear a armour set , reduces damage taken greatly. When i was lvl 60 on my pure str archer i wore armour at peg,s and had no troubles. but then again wear garms for int based attacking mobs.

Garm is the way to go ^_^

The mobs use imbued atks, its like being hit by a hybrid. Since you already have high phy def go garm to balance out the dmg you will receive :).
