When did you start using XLarge pots when grinding? Or do you still use large at lvl 80? And only XLarge for PvPing/Jobbing.

As a pure str I started using XL HP pots at level 75 or 76, when I started killing mages and shamans. XL MP would be a waste, large is enough.

well, this is embarrasing I guess...
Level 35 is when I started using next to largest Health and Largest Mana (Yes, the ones you get in Hotan).
I grind solo first off. Whether that makes a difference, I have no idea, The other reasons are:
Why the XL Mana: I seem to cast too much, too fast so need the XL mana in order to stay continuous, lag alone is a killer for me, I do not need to be unable to cast a spell because my mana is used up and pot is still waiting to be used.
Health because by the time I am able to reuse a health pot again, I have been hit considerably, AND the larger overfills my health but, since I'm taking hits as its healing, it covers that damage too.
While doing all this, I also use the VIGOR pots faithfully. They are my emergency pots when something goes unexpected, such as lag that puts me near death, or I'm just concerned of getting a 2k Crit hit and only have 1700 health and the pot is "recharging".
THAT said, I wish you could make VIGORS! If you can, tell me how! LOL

you are doing something wrong.
try your own level mobs.
fix your gear (blues and at least have +3 gear)
get a better weapon (kill the mobs before they hit you)
using those pots at that level wastes a lot of your gold and you sound like your one of those players who think the exp per kill is more important than the exp in a certain time.
large hp pots and xxl mp

Most gear has at least +2 or +3 Str as a "Blue"
Almost all gear is +3 (If not, then +2)
Gap for getting some SP is only at 2 and monsters are only 1-4 levels higher than my level of clothing.
So... level 36 clothing for level 37-40 creatures.
Weapon is level 38 and kills in 1 shot, 2 shot if champ.
I dont know what else to do...
But grinding in level 36 or less seems like a waste.
But I'll take some advise...

Avenqerz...what is your build? Euro ints need vigors to survive...try to buy them from stalls (if you can afford xl/large all the time...that wouldnt be a problem

)
<-- not been in de xl range yet so no answer for that =]

If you fight in parties.
You're going to need to use Hp Large at around 35 for tanks
Mp large for ints at around 4x unless you have a bard around you 24/7
I started using Hp XL on my tank at level 42 because I was tanking penons.
MP XL is necessary for most euro ints that party starting 60+, the nukes become extremely costly, if you're a cleric Mp XL should be used from second you can afford them, it's just safer that way.
However, I know some euro party-ers at Generals that rely 100% on bard and cleric and carry 1 stack of each pot, large at that.
If you fight solo, on my chinese glaiver and blader i didnt start using HP XL till around 64+ and even then it wasn't really necessary.

So basically, euro's are pot hogs?

nah, on my chinese char I used to have to bring around 250 HP XL and 700 MP large or so every time I went grinding..
on my euro rouge / cleric I only need 50 hp xl and around 300 mp and it lasts just as long

GodsAngel is talking about 1hand/2hand/dual axe (tank), not a rogue. it easy for you if you're range with xbow, killing the mob before it comes to hit you.
Like he said, we started to grind at penons @ lvl 42-43 (8men pt all the way up), plus, you lure pt mobs, not 1-2, sometimes you lure 10 pt mobs, depends on your party potential.
And for MP XL ask some hi lvl wizard, even with a bard behind he's sometimes out of MP.

not necessarily, those pots are for emergencies, usually we have a cleric and bard. sometimes I go back to town and i see i haven't used a single pot, other times I come back wondering why I didn't bring enough.
in an emergency, we have that 15 second pot delay so, the bigger the better. and euro int skills require a bard definitely, they are mana hogs.
