Do Mages have an abnormal effect like zombie or something?
sromap.com was wrong about the nachals so i better ask =)

No they do not cast any abnormal effects status, just pure magical damage. You do not need to carry universal pills to train there. I do carry just one stack of 50 pills, as I have to pass through karas/niya hunters which do cast zombie/poison respectively.
