SP farming question

I was wondering, I'm gonna begin SP farming at 16 with my main skill mastery at 10, do I have to have godly gear to sp farm?
No. But having better gear would make the whole process quicker and less painful.
The reason chinese chars farm with sox bows at lvl 16 is that most can one or two shot their targets. Just bear in mind that your attacks will be weaker by having a 6 gap. So you should over time find better weapons to farm with, or make better weapons by enchanting the weapon you are using.
P.s. I am assuming you are playing with a Chi char.
