Hunter/Thief newb question

Hi guys, just wanted to ask: why do people care so much about lvling up their hunter/thief jobs? Is it just for the cool sounding names at least lvl of a job, or does it actually give stat bonuses?

Well that's what SilkRoad is all about, the hype of becoming either a Thief, Trader or Hunter.
One reason to level up a hunter is other traders would pay you more for your services (thus getting profit), and thieves would think twice about PvPing you, or trying to jack the loot of the one your protecting.
As for a Thief, if your a high level, Hunters would be afraid and perhaps, even take off their hunter suit (lmao trust me i've seen this efore_), and other Thieves would respect you, and as a thief you would be really rich because high level thiefs , in my opinion, are far more successful than high level hunters.
Once i get to the high 30's and 40's, it's time to be a thief ;]

At the moment, its purely for the cool names [being an Expert when you hit lvl 4 of a job]
After we get the euro update, jobs will have much more meaning. Please refer to this page
