buying bot gold - very illegal?

yes, i also hate bots, they're bad, evil and must be banned. anyway, i'm really against buying gold from them for real money, but the purpose would be really innocent - to promote a guild. anyway, i don't want to be a supporter for those kind of things, but does joymax punish gold BUYERS? that is, if i'm not aware of this kind of thing being illegal, do i stand for a ban? i understand joymax makes a lot of money selling junk to players and they don't make anything from bots, but do they care at all?
