Ok I remember seeing but I cant find it now that the white (+__%) was how much better it is compaired to the npc item. when you use alchamy to enhance the item (and it works) it gives it a new value another (+__%) blue.

can you increase the white % number? or is that fixed for that item.

You can change the white % number by using Ruby stones. If you're going to use a jade stone, it adds a blue to the item but the white +% stays the same. Feel free to change it anytime...except that you have to watch out for attribute assimilation.

Yes, each stone has up to 30% assimilation chance,if you get lucky you can get 10% assimilation chance on a stone. It might still fail, but the chance of assimilation is small...

Assim CAN go up, even if the stone doesn't. I had a magdef stone go 0%->0% yesterday, and the mag reinforce went from ~20% to ~40%. :D

Assimilation does not always means something bad. All it means is that some other attribute, other than the desired attribute, may change. I remember a long time ago Athena was trying to change the crit (i think) on a weapon and it would never get better with challenge stones so he started using every other stone in am attempt to get the crit to change through assimilation.
