I know, whith weapons you can hit more, but I see farmers with SoX armour, what is the use of that, the only thing that is provides it better defence, but I am pure int and I even cant get killed....

Well I had a degree 4 sox protector set and at lvl 29, earth taoists couldn't even do more than 100 damage on me... so I guess it means less hp pots?

Exactly. Less pots= you can stay out longer.

so when they get hit with a bandit giant they dont get owned by 1429857 bandits and b. archers

I am a pure INT, with just an additional 8 str and 10 int, but why should I need SoX armour if I can kill those bandits easily?

You can stay out longer, use less hp pots, feel rich, and it's cheap.

The simplest answer is that you take less damage. If you're high level and are farming, jobbing or pvping, sox equipment makes the biggest difference. It's nice to have if you can afford it and are planning on farming for a long time, but it is not at all necessary. If you'd rather buy lots of pots then stick with that method. Here is the breakdown of the advantages to having sox equip:
less damage>less hp pots>less trips to town>more time to grind> more inventory space> more space for drops> more money=happy farmer. It's pretty much common sense...

for farming is not really neccesary to have armor just less damage=lest pots.

at higher lvls. 30+ an sos armour is useful since it takes longer to level up. therefor you will be wearing the sos for a longer time before selling it. its not really neccessary though unless you like to kill orange or red mobs (like i do). you will need an sox weapon thought so you can deal greater damage.

an sox for killing Earth Taoist (hate them) is VERY helpful. I use armour and was receiving about 200-300 dmg and with an sos damage was reduce to about 100 or less. ( i should had been using garment but didn't want to)

You can also farm on things way higher. Like I know people who've tried to farm on demon horses at level 16, I guarantee you can't survive a mob of them without at least full som set.

you dont need it, but i makes you feel that you are superior, and also people do less dmg in pvp so you can survive better.

i never spend money on sox equipments, only weapons. i just get some blue gears with +int and str and that's all good for me.

full sos for farming at 16 is useless. I can kill mobs all day without them even come close to me and often time i have to wait for them to reappear. Use that gold for str and int stones to add to ur 2d and 3d gear.
