Attack Rating
Is there any official word on what precisely is Attack Rating (and thus Parry Ratio)? Or is it that it increases the average damage is just common belief? I got a few theories and I was wondering... But I don't seem to find any official word on it anywhere. But I don't want to present a theory sounding dumb by not reading an official statement.

I think attack rating is about the chance of getting the max damage in your weapon , while Parry is about getting less damage by contradicting the attack rating of those who attacks you if your parry is much greater.
They laugh at me because im different, I laugh back at them cause they are all the same

But that is not an official word... That's why I'm going to say some of my toughts.
I think Attack Rating is deeply related to general dicing of attacks. In other words, the more Attack Rating, the more luck you'll have when attacking the enemy. What does that mean?
It means that the higher the Attack Rating, the higher your chance of giving status effects, the higher your chance to score a critical, the higher your chance of getting your attack NOT blocked, and of course, the higher the average damage dealt by your character.
Why this theory? Well, it started many months ago, with the christmas event. We got both Attack Rating and Parry Ratio scrolls. I was about 45 at the moment. With me being an Pacheon+Cold character, I had both the noticeable criticals and freezes to use on my test. I noticed while training at Bunwangs that it was really easy to hit them with critical or to freeze them. I had a SoS bow which also means higher attack rating than usual. But then, when I ocasionally went to hunt Ujigis, it was really hard to hit them with a critical or to freeze them compared to the Bunwangs.
That proves nothing yet, but then I went to hunt at the Ujigis with an Attack Rating scroll activated. And I noticed that it got even easier to critical and to freeze both at Bunwangs and at Ujigis. Of course, my average damage also improved.
While using a Dodging Scroll, I got less criticals from monsters while hunting (other than the reduced average damage taken). Since I don't usually use these scrolls while doing PvP, I couldn't test my Parry VS other players but I'm almost sure it would be noticeable.
It may just be a coincidence, but what if this happens to be right? I'd like people to check on the truth of this, since one person alone cannot prove a whole theory with a single character.
