pk2 editing sound?

hey I've read somewhere that you could use pk2 to change sound in silkroad, my friend done a similar thing with GuildWars he sent me a file that i've added into my GW directory and added custom sound when we were killing people in pvp.

so when there was someone dying form the other team the game was Shouting ''HeadShot'' ''double kill'' ''Triple Kill'' just like in Unreal Tournment :D

(the only issue was that it actually worked for pve mob too :s kinda annoying in pve)

so is it possible to do the same thing with sro? and is it possible to fix it for player only? cause it would be horrible to grind with this :banghead:

Cruor knows how to do it.

It's done in Music.pk2, but that's all I can tell you.

Never tested this..but I suppose that if you changed the music files within "Music.pk2" with your own (making sure the file sizes are the same, will be very hard to do.[maybe they do not need to be the same size >.> I have no idea]) then the music in game should change.

Edit: I just tried opening up a song with a hex editor. It works :D You can add null bytes to songs to match file sizes..so..find a song that isn't as big as the original file (or the same) and add to it? You can try if you like, no garuntees tho.

----You still have to extract Music.pk2 and then inject it back in =o

The only pk2 file that can cause problems if its size is affected is Media.pk2, the other files don't have that restriction... i've replaced Data.pk2 in iSRO (600+ MB) with the kSRO one (1+ GB) and it was fine... i replaced it to have the euro chars skins heh
If Media.pk2 is not affected, you don't need to worry about size, unless you delete something, and leave an empty space. At least i think so, i haven't tried with Music.pk2
