I'm having a little trouble with this quest... is the drop totally random or not? And i heard you don't have to fight bandits, just mobs with bandit in their names

all these quests are random

i second the motion...cookies anyone?

its random from bandit.

some people take a few seconds, other a couple min and some hours.

not much a cookie person unless you put alot of them in milk and then drink it later.

Its just like the Ring From the Ongs quest, random. I was killing a Giant Ong one day, and a reg Ong flew by me and started attacking me. I used Light Nuke, Shout and Ghost SPear and it dropped the ring!

yeah u got to find a ring from maongs or something....i remember my friend took like 12 hours and i got mine 2nd kill

it's Ong, and it took me 2 days to find it.

as for the sword quest, it took me a few hours. then i accidentally sold it to npc, so i had to find it again

archers or bandits but took me at least a week for me

Abandoned that quest, took way too long.

omg u ..... hated that ong quest i t took me 1 week to find the ..... ring i lvled up 3 times trying to find it

i cant find it :/ so i need to kill bandits only?

yeah and i think you must kill them in bandit stronghold?

Any Bandit will do.

I got it in under 10 Bandit kills.

Just kill every bandit yu see and one will have a stolen sword

i had to lol, i spent random periods over two weeks there looking for that ring, still havent found it xD

possibly even funnier, a guild member took the quest even tho i had warned him against it. 4 days later he is ranting in TS about not finding it then that afternoon when he was clearing his inventory he says something like 'wtf is this thing? its been in here for days'.......dumb sh*t bag probably picked it up first drop

I'm not sure why people complain about this quest... Just keep killing bandits. For the amount of exp you get, don't expect to get it your first drop. I've done it in 10 bandits on one character. The one I use now took like 500 bandits. Just keep killing them. If you are near their level, it's also good exp and they have decent drops.

i had it after such of 360 bandits
first i had i @ 40 but i seled it becouse i thought it was broken cleaver
