i say no
you will get alot more money out of selling the
sos than out of selling the elements

well yes you do get lots of elements, but i read
that some high levels tried it but they got no
stones from them just some elements. elements
go for max 2k each and sos items go for round
450k-750k (1x-2x sos on sparta does) so you would
need to get at least 225k elements out of that sos
to get a real profit or be lucky and get 4 int or
str stones..

The item dosnt have to be blue to get a stone from it. I have broken plain 68 and 72 weapons and got multiple stones from each. I have also broken 68 and 72 weapons and got nothing but elements from them. Yet another thing in this game that is random.
Also, breaking an sos item is the same as breaking any other item. You dont get extra elements, you dont get extra anything. If you broke a sos 16 blade, and a regular 16 blade, you would get the same amount of elements.
There was also a trick to find out if you will get a stone, but the trick dosnt always work because its mostly random. It consisted of only leaving 3 open spaces in your inventory, putting the rondo and item in the window and clicking fuse. In the bottom window, it will say that you need X amount of spaces in order to break this item. If that number is more than 4, then you should expect a stone.
The flaw that i found is that when i did this, i had a weapon with 3 blues or smoething, went thru the steps above and it said i needed 6 inventory spots so i thought i would get 2 stones. I closed the window so i could free inventory space, did the process again, and it only gave me elements, no stones.
Sell the sos, you will barely get any elements from a piece of sub 7th degree gear, and slightly more, but still not enough to justify, from a weapon.
