Hi ya. :)

I’m quite new to the game and relatively new to the Internet in general.
I have a couple of real newbie questions. My previous gaming experience is solely Tetris.

I see people going nuts about bots and botters. What on earth are they?!

And my other question was about thieves. I don’t belong to any groups and am not a trader. I keep being taken out in one hit by high level thieves – but nothing gets stolen. So I was wondering, if you are a thief, do you get experience points or something for killing players?

You guys should post a warning too – of how addictive this game is. Far too much time slips away while out killing the beasties! It’s a great diversion from housework! :D

Bots = a person who lets a program grind for him, to gain XP faster without doing anything himself...

That are NPC thieves.. They can attack everyone who walks around. High lvl traders or Thieves spawn those.. Avoid them :)

BOT

1. Simple computer program used to perform highly repetitive operations, e.g. trawling websites to collect email addresses.

2. Computer program run concurrently with an online game to give the player an unfair advantage. Bots may alter the game environment, boost the abilities of the player's character or hinder opponents. Writing bots requires a great deal of skill; using them almost none.

"So you're using an aimbot... and he's using an aimbot... if you're both going to cheat, why bother to play?"
"Just to show that I cheat better than him."
