Ok, I saw this in red on some items, I guess it has something to do with failed alchemy, but how do u get it? when elixirs fail or when stones fail? also what is the chance of getting it and is it that bad? Thanks

you can get it from durability stones - dont know how they are called ingame.
its not a high chance, you just have very bad luck

You sometimes get the "red reduced durability" from trying to use an elixer to either a +4 or +5 item (or more). Steady will prevent this from happening.

ok, thanks guys
I am planning to buy a som 6d glavie (hope the guy won't sell it in the next few days - I need 40m more

). So if I am lucky and buy it, it needs lots of alchemy to be done (except elixirs) and usually I'm not very lucky with it

You can't get it from dura stones, they are called master stones btw. Master stones will give an increase, not a decrease

i dont think the red will go away when you want to +5 and up your items you should put STEADY STONES on it, which will prevent from the red status.
