how often do giants appear

cause sometimes I see like 20 a night, and sometimes I only see one or two.

But sometimes, depending on the area and monsters your fighting, giants appear more often and around the same area, for example Penon Fighters(right when you get to Kara)

Completely random.. sometimes there can be 5 giants in the same area in a short timespan.
Sometimes you go hours without seeing one.
