FIRE BURNS?!?!

I have a Character that has fire as their mian element or whatever.... and it burns the mobs... sometimes it burns the mob like small damage and sometimes it shows huge numbers .... but it dont seem to make any damage at all... MEANING... it shows the number damage on screen but there seems to be no actual damage....i am SOO CONFUSED!!?

It is a glitch.

The large number is a combination - the sum - of your initial attack and burn damage.

Is there any way u can increase the fire damage?

Upgrading your fire imbue, makes the damage it does larger. But as you upgrade it you'll be fighting stronger mobs so the effect is pretty much the same.
