Hunter Questions

I've noticed a bunch of thief and trader guides but there is a lack of guides on becoming a hunter. (Or maybe I don't know where to look?) Maybe there isn't much to it, but I need to ask:
What's a good level to start? And how do I get started? (I already bought the job item.) Do I need to wait by the shops until someone hires me? Will thieves spawn if I run around by myself?
Excuse me if this sounds too noob -- Any advice is appreciated!

hi and welcome. unless your around lvl 40+ it's almost pointless to try being a hunter. you will get owned constantly by high lvl thiefs.you can try it,but I would wait till you hit a higher lvl. (sorry, not sure what lvl you are, you may be a high lvl).if your only lvl 20 no one will hire you cuz everyone will be a higher lvl than you.if your in a guild try to tag along on a trade run and learn. if not follow a trader at a safe distance (spawned thiefs may attack you). you can kill npc thiefs without a hunter suit on. make sure they don't show up red though before you attack. hope this helps. thiefs only spawn on you if you have goods(a trader or thief with a load) they don't spawn on hunters.

Thanks for your response! I'm level 29 currently, and was hoping I could get started once I'm in the thirties. But I didn't realize that npc thieves would spawn at so high a level. I'll try the following thing until I get higher, thanks again!

npc thiefs spawn at or around the lvl of the trader they spawn on. player thiefs are what you have to watch out for while in a hunter suit. they will attack you on sight if your a low lvl (most of them anyway). a good indicator as to the lvl of a player is there gear. check out there gear and it will give you a good indication as to what lvl they are.

As long as I kill thieves I'll get hunter experience; is that correct? I don't necessarily need the hunter gear? And I'll try to follow traders that are closer to my level, if possible.

No, you need to have a hunter suit on to get hunter experience.

you need to have hunter gear on to attack a player thief and to gain hunter exp when you kill a npc thief. without suit on you gain no hunter points by killing npc thief it's the same as any other mob. I believe you would turn murderer if you attack a player thief without hunter (or trader ) suit on.

I couldn't possibly wait that long! There has to be lower levels jobbing out there somewhere. Otherwise, what's the point? I'd rather suck being mobbed by high levels than wait forever. It can't all go poorly...

you could do 1* trade runs. you earn cash and get experience at the same time. just watch out so you don't get popped. if you see a higher lvl trader or thief with a load avoid them like the plague. if there thieves spawn on you it's all over. player thiefs can't attack you directly if you do a 1* trade run, but there spawned thiefs will. just be careful and have fun.
