Challenge Stones Effects

Ok heres the thing. I know challenge stones change a weapons critical, but how high can it go? Each time I've used one it either lowered the critical or it stayed the same

. I have one more to use but im contemplating whether I should or not

.
Any advice greatly appreciated

Depends on the weapon. SOX weapons have higher max stats.
If you're lucky it will go 10+. It's all about the luck.

I recently bought a very cheap SOS lvl 24 bow, only has 4 cri though, tried stone on it and it stayed at 4
oh well, ill try again i guess

i heard doing alchemy @ a quiet spot helps success.
and if u keep failin move to new spot.
not sure true or not but no harm trying

its just depends on the luck of a weapon.
i had a lvl 35 glavie. i tryed about 10 stones on it, the crit from 5or 7 went down to 2 and when i was about to quit and sell it, i tryed the last stone i had and from crit 2 it went crit 13!

What was weird was I was adding Int to my spear.
And it raised the crit by 1.
So my spear is now Crit: 7 with +3 int.
Don't ask me how it just happened.

That is because of the Assimilation. Although a LOT of people think that is the chance the specific ability comes on your item, assimilation means the chance an OTHER ability changes. (most of the times for worse, but in your case you got lucky)
For instance you have an int stone with 30% assimilation, it means that if it works and it adds for instance 1 int, there is also 30% chance that an other blue and/or white ability changes. So when people think 30% is best, if you have lots of blue abilities which are perfect/near perfect 10% stones are actually better!
