Question bout Crits and SP Farming...

So I decided to SP Farm, at least for a little while

Since I just started, I cannot really afford a good SoS Level 16 Bow and all that fancy stuff. But I did come across a level 16 bow with 11 Critical and 58-70 Phy. Attck(No Blues and +'s). That's good....right? 'Cause my current bow has like 2 Critical...

So yeah...I was thinking...will my 11 crit bow be a good substitute for an Sos Bow? At least till I can afford one...? Or do I have to buy weapon elixirs and upgrade it to +3 or whatever. "Cause I heard that SoS bows are equivilant to a +5?

I'm one level away from 16... I need advice from all you pros out there. Thanks for your time

Edit: Oh snap, I found a lvl 16 Bow with a +1 and a 60% durability increase...(around 90 durability) But...I heard that Crit > Durability and 4 extra attack power. Thoughts?

P.S. I have around 1.5 million gold...or whatever currency it is..

Regular equipment, even with good (%)s will not be a full subsitiute for an SoS. The + on a weapon literally increases the level of the equipment, so a Lvl 16 Sos bow (usually around 5-7+) will be more like a level 23 bow. Even with a lower critical rate, SoS guarantees a much better base phys and mag damage, as well as their reinforces.

So in short, a +0 lvl 16 bow with crit 11 is not a substitute for a level 16 SoS bow even if it had a critical of 3.

Secondly, yes 11 crit is good. However depends what your build is, as to how much it will help you. If your INT you wont really need a powerfull bow, a decent enought lvl 16 will be enough to 2 hit (if you have good blues on gear).

If your strengh, idk, I've never farmed at stronghold with str car

Aw. man... Oh well. I'll just use this bow for a while till I can afford an Sos bow.. which is like...four million..?

Oh..and also...do you truly absolutely need an SoS bow to farm? I'm pure str.

you definitely DO NOT need an SOS bow to farm. It is nice of course, but people who have just started this game obviously do not have the money. What is best is to get a bow that will at least two hit a bandit archer. So, I have a bow+6 which easily two hits a bandit archer with imbue. bandit archers have about 340ish hp, so just get about 200dmg per hit with imbue and youre good. So depending on whether youre INT, STR, or hybrid you will need better or worse bows.

If youre INT, youre bow wont need to be that good. with imbue you easily two hit a bandit with probably a bow+2 or +3.

Im not so sure about STR builds, but crit is important for STR builds for bows. So its always nice to have good crit, 7+ crit.

Anyway, dont buy an SOS bow, its a luxury item, not a necessity. They are also seriously overpriced for its worth. I got my bow+6 for only 1million, bargain price, and i did a little alchemy, and added some nice str +3 and int +3. And changed some stats so its better, and I can one hit a bandit archer when i critical. So dont go overboard with the whole SOS thing. Just find something that works within your budget.

krazykid is right, no need for a SOS Bow but it really helps when farming.. You'll kill MUCH faster, so depending on how much you are going to farm, I'd say go with an SOS since you'll get the gold back. Until then, a regular bow is just fine but it'll take you longer.

Buy gold, then you get the best equip always, and be sure to buy bot so you dont need to level either, only then can you be the best player!

SOS bow is not a luxury item. For me, it's a must. I need to 1 hit archers. If ur kill rate is high, ur farming period will be shorter. My target is 300K sp and i'm definitely need a good sos bow.

Yes, u can live with 2 hit archers. But what if there's plenty of ppl in stronghold? U need to be faster than others.

The most important thing in farming is the kill rate. How many can u kill in a certain time. The more, the better. More kills = more sp = reach ur target faster.

My current SP is 53K, i've been farming for around 18 days. That's 2-3K sp per day. I cant imagine farming with normal bow.

If ur target SP is high, save some gold and buy a SOS bow. Take advantage of the current events. I made huge gold on it.

hmm well i have my SOS finally to +5 3/3 with all str gear and i still don't 1 hit archers...i've decided to lvl up to 20+ get the extra str and dlvl and see if this will remedy the situation...Str build BTW and yes sometimes i 1 hit with imbue but honestly with anything less than SOM+ with str build i don't see it happening...

I agree BTW kill something you can 1 hit ALOT and build up some jewel boxes..Great way to create capital and buy a better bow...

I'm an Int based and my SOS Bow is +6 with 11 crit. 80-90% of my shot is 1 hit kill. I've lvl up to 19 and get the stats points and then delevel back. It does help. For pure str build, i think u need a better bow and more stats points and +str/int in ur EQ to 1 hit archers.
