what does the lucky powder do? and if the alchamy fails then does all the previouse things disaper on it too?
also what does the +1 to +8 or so mean on a weapon or armor or somthing like that?

1)lucky powder gives an item a better chance of getting + on it when you use elixirs for alchemy.
2)If alchemy fails then the +'s will go away.
3)The +'s on items just gives them better stats

Each + is equal to around 1 level.
