hi,
first time in the forum actually, like this one better than the official one. I'm not a regular player of this game (me and my gf shares the account, she plays more than I do)
we experienced a problem ever since the Thanksgiving event. the game often crashes, ranging from 2 minutes until hours after the game. The crash occurs randomly, mostly at towns but sometimes during battle or just plain standing in the middle of nowhere. after it crashes it goes to desktop with a message box displaying some "??????" (might be Korean text) and then the list of my hardware specs, and then two buttons.
I have done the following to remedy the problem (with no success of course):
-updating my display drive and motherboard driver
-switching from wireless LAN connection to wired
-change the paging file size in virtual memory to maximum value
-unplug all USB drives
-lower the desktop resolution to the resolution as same as the game's resolution
closing down unwanted programs in system
I'm running a 2.81 GHz P4 with 512Mb ddr2 ram and 128 MB NVidia Geforce FX5200. (required specs).
Is it the PC or is it just the event that's screwing up the game?
Thanks in advance.

Well....first of all welcome to the SRF
And as for your quirey, this is a problem that i had suffered a lot..to tell
the truth it just went away, but yes it is the event patch. So the best thing
for you to do is to downloaded the lastest SRO patch for your computer.
Or try uninstalling and then reinstalling the game...hopes this helps

I tried the uninstall-reinstall part, didn't work. My pc is running on 2 OS (2 partitions, each running Windows XP) the other Windows is what I call a Control OS, just the neccesary drivers for the hardwares and that's all. I use it to test applications and its performances on a clean OS in which I did the same with SRO. No bananas.
My SRO is running on v1.070, guess it's the latest right, unless the guys back in Seoul did something funny and decided not to tell us about the patch.
crappy event, all we ever got are scrolls, potions and more lags.
I miss playing Fallout 2
