Hello,
One of my friends had his account hacked (1.5 Mil gold and some items stolen), and he'd like to change his password (it might not help, but nevertheless). It seems the SRO site doesn't allow you to do this (at least I was unable to do so). Does anyone know if this is possible (and if so, how) ?

Well...

yes you can. go to the offical SRO website. http://www.silkroadonline.net
and click under where it says "log in" on "forgotten password?"
follow the instructions and change your pw when prompted to do so.
(PLEASE NOTE: that you will need your secrete question, but its no point
if he was hacked once he will be hacked again.)

Proform a virsus scan of your/his PC and delete any spamware as well
then make a new character, otherwise he will be hacked again and again.

Thanksfully, his character was only lvl 23, shouldn't be a burden to reroll.

omfg im so pissed..i was lvl 36 and i was hacked and lost 4mil and about 5-10 mil worth of items.

and also i forgot my secret answer for my account... Im soo pissed off rite now...i think its time i quit silkroad

before changing your password, consider some steps to ensure that you'll never be hacked again.

-get an anti-spyware and a good antivirus that updates daily (I don't know about antispywares, but for antivirus I'd recommend AVG Antivirus-not the free version though). Scan the PC using the software.

-make sure no PC spy programs are installed. Normally these programs are installed by employers in the company's pc to monitor their worker's PC usage, but since you're not going to play in office (I assume). then it's a bit safe, but then maybe your brother wants to know your dirty little secrets.......

-Set up firewall

(try not to use Mcafee-they are good but they will slow down your PC like there's no tomorrow)

This only works in MacroShaft InterWeb Exploiter. So he may actually not be seeing the button you speak of, as it is not there in other browsers.

I agree with you on the hacked once it will happen again bit. Even if it were not true.....he is better off rerolling.
