how to make weapons stronger?

hello, how do i make my weapons stronger such as adding blues to it, or the lvl +1 or +2 etc.....i heard of elixers, is there only one elixer? the intensifying elixer? or are there other elixers?

elixers cant break your weapons, could they? anything else i should know about making weapons stronger?

and can you increase other weapon stats such as Attack Rating, Attack Speed by doing alchemy?
