hello i am lvl 40 and i have been grinding on those lvl 45 monkeys for a while and so far not a single item drop.

is that just bad luck or higher lvl mobs dont give item drops ? ;/

I think that the 'ball' next to the monster name would be red for you, If it's red then the monsters have practically no chance of dropping items/gold.
I thought it was like this;
Red; Almost non
Orange; Every now and then
White/grey; See Orange
Green; Highest drop%
Blue; See Red

Blue drops a lot, but they can't be like.... 10 levels below you.

Don't grind oranges. Waste of pots, and you don't get enough items.

I am not so sure about that. Being a pure str, I commonly grind on monsters who are several levels ("red") for me, and I have gotten quite a many drops from them. Of course, I have on and off days, sometimes I grind for 3 hours and get 5 or 6 drops, somtimes only 1, but I don't personally think that the drop rate of monsters are that drammatically different. It could be that monsters out of your level range to drop less, and this I know, because monsters lower than you significantly do have horrendous drop rates, and therefore monsters significantly higher might also do so, but to say almost none might be too much.
