if i use a Tablet of say XYZ on a weapon that has +5 ... can it loose the + if the alchemie fails?

f.e. using a Tablet of Callenge on a +5 SoM weapon becaus it only has a crit of 5


or can only using elexier result in loosing the enchant +5?

only using an elixer can changes the +.

so i can safely use stones on the weapon

because it would a shame to loose the +5 on this
