That's an avatar. You can probably buy it for silk. Press F10 in-game to check out the item mall.

Silk costs real life money, by the way.

You're looking at the wrong pet

You don't get gold till level 70, only tokens. You can visit the NPCs in town to get free Seal of Star weapons, though. The NPCs stand near the teleport in town.
