My friend had way too many shield elixirs, he's level 70. So he grabbed a grabbed a bad 12 br lvl 42 shield and used exactly 7 shield elixirs. He went 0 to +7, all really fast. Good waste of shield elixirs, hehe.
back when i knew nothing of failure rate, i had a lvl 16 +3 shield from a monster drop with 4 times immortal and got it to +7 (before the immortal bug was fixed) then i just kept going (used up all immortals) and failed... and broke shield 400% reduce in durability, that sucked

bs
+4 isn't as hard as most people think. It's just because everybody's afraid to try it that it usually doesn't happen. It's +5 that's the killer.
i disagree, ive tried numerous times to +5 a weapon (without astral) and rarely does it make it to +4. but i guess you win some and you lose some. 2 weapons using under 10 elixirs to +5. =/
Long time ago I tried to make weapons +3 but always got like +1 +2 0 +1 0 +1 +2 0 ...so I gave up on that and always bought my weapons. 2 days ago I found a +2 weapon then found a weapon elixir, made the weapon +3, found another weapon elixir, waited for some while and decided to try to make it +4 and so I did. It helped that the weapon have 4 times lucky on it or I would probably not even try. Of course I used lucky powders too.
+5'ed one of my rings today. it went 1-4 with 4 elixirs, and to 5 today w/ one more. so 1-5 with 5 elixirs ain't bad. it also has int+5 immortal+6 and 20% on all statuses :) i <3 it.
