a gap equals this:

[your CHARACTER's level] - [level of your HIGHEST MASTERY] = gap

example:
i have a lvl 24 character with my highest mastery at lvl 20. my gap would be:

gap = [24] - [20] = 4

8)

First of all, a gap is a difference in your mastery level and your character level. Your mastery level is the highest level of all your skill trees. A 9-gap is simply that - a difference of 9 between your mastery/character level. For example, if you are level 16, a mastery level of 7 would give you a 9-gap. People use 9-gaps for SP farming, a way to get lots of SP fast, since it yields the most SP.
