Socket Stones

Post by The Invisible »

What does each socket stone do ?

I know there are like 5 of them and that they give 'emergency' buffs for like 15-25 seconds .
But i only know what 1 of them do .

Socket stone of stamina : gives 50 % more hp for a short period of time .
So in the first week in college i went with jeans and the pajama's shirt. Didn't notice what i was wearing till after i returned home.

I'm not sure of the names because I don't have them in front of me, but

[*]Like you said, the socket stone of stamina gives a 50% increase in hp
[*]The socket stone of mana will give you a 50% increase in your total mana for 9-14 seconds depending on what level the stone gets when it is installed to your weapon.
[*]The socket stone of recovery will instantly heal a certain percent of your hp depending on what level it gets, something between 30% and 55% of your total hp.
[*]The socket stone of agility will increase your parry rating between 9% and 14% for a short time like 9 - 12 seconds.
[*]I can't remember the name of the last stone, but i believe it increases your attack rate (not attack rating). Increased attack rate reduces the pause between your regular double-click attacks. It does not increase the speed of your attack animation nor does it have any affect on skill cooldowns.

Regarding the socket stones that increase your total hp and mp by 50%, they do not fill your bar when they are increased. In other words, if you had 2000/2000 HP and activated your stamina socket stone, your HP would then be 2000/3000. So while the stone seems appealing on paper, it isn't actually helpful unless you fill the temporary increase with an HP pot, or if you're a cleric using HP recovery. It's also unfortunate that all of the socket stones have a cooldown time of 4 minutes, so it's important to gauge when you should use it since it will be unavailable for quite a while.

Keep in mind that there's a good chance we will get more than 5 socket stones to choose from. I googled silkroad socket stones and found a list of 9 more socket stones that haven't been brought to the game yet.

theres socket stones for HP recovery (just a huge HP pot), parry rate increase, HP 50% increase, MP 50% increase and attack rate increase.

You can buy them, or make them, at the new crafting system.

Aren't you guys forgetting one super awesome socket stone?

There's one that will enable you to have a chance to not use any mana on the next skill! woo! Could save you a nice pot there.
