The next BIG patch will change it so that trader/hunter/thief levels actually matter, though. SO I hear.

u can put more goods on to ur horse/camel without going over the star limit
example
1st lvl trader = 15k worth of goods
then 2nd lvl trader = 16-19k worth of goods
and etc

no, you can't. right now the job levels do absolutely nothing. the only things that make a difference in star value is: type of transport(horse/camel), and character level(not job level)

can u give an example on how the character level effects the star value please

it's pretty simple. as your character level goes up, you can hold more in a camel for the same amount of start. for example, on a lvl 20 trader, you can hold somewhere between 15-16k worth of goods(with a camel) before it goes up to a two-star trade. whereras, on a mid-30's character, you can hold about 25k worth(again, camel) on a one star run.
the amount goes up by a little bit each level. the last time i looked at a level-up it went up by about 400-500, but it may differ between levels.
sorry for the inexact numbers, but i'm at work right now. i think it's pretty much explained though.

Also, I'm not sure if this is current or a future update (pretty sure it's current): when a Trader lvl's up, they have better defense against thieves.
The same is also true for Hunters (better attack rating against thieves) and Thieves (better defense against Hunters, and hitting Traders better)
that's from the ingame guide I think.

well acording to the 'daily q&a' on the silkroad site, as of april 20th, it didn't do that either. i haven't seen them say it's been implemented, but i know it IS planned, since like you said, it's in the in game help. i think it's just not implemented yet.
