Garment , i would say its give you more Magical Dmg 
but vs Warriors its useless

I wouldn't say useless, just not as useful. I traded my normal +5 +6 garm set with a friend to pvp an idiot warrior. I went from 18k crits to 15k crits. Note his set was nova +7 +12 protector/armor. So I went from normal garms to nova pro/arm and the dmg was reduced by about 3k... It helps, but not THAT much. Biggest difference really was that I noticed I could tank a dd with bleed. Before I would need bleed off to tank it.
I'm not saying garms are better for warriors, just saying it's not completely useless.

I'd stick with prot. Although garm is the more obvious choice.
