When someone is referring to say a wiz/cleric *or bard*, their talking about which skill trees they took. For Euros, there's Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Warlock, Cleric, and Bard. So when they say wiz/cleric, they typically mean they fight stuff as a wizard, using a staff, and have cleric to buff/heal, or enhance their survival ratio.
You can only use either Wizard or cleric at one specific time. But you can easily switch between the two classes by changing from your staff *wizard* to your cleric rod. You can't cast your wizard nukes when you don't have your staff equipped. And vice versa.
Hopefully this made sense. If your confused about something, feel free to ask for a further explanation. = )
Think of it this way: Constantinople and Samarkand are "Euro" towns. Donwhang and Jangan are "Chinese" towns, so the Euro towns don't sell Chinese equipment and vice versa.
Hotan is considered a mix, so both Chinese and European equipment is sold there.
Side note - At lower levels, you pretty much have to buy weapons from the blacksmith *aka an NPC*, but their weapons and gear selections are the worst you can find, stat-wise. Your much better off, when you get higher, buying from other players the gear and weapons you need. Or even just using the drops you pick up. If your lucky enough to manage getting a drop you can use that is.
