Does my armor still protect me?

Does my armor still protect me if I lowered my warrior skills under the required level to put them on? I still have it on. It's just red and I want to make sure i know whether if it's protecting me or not before I take it off.

When i as a chinese lvl up and equip a new weapon, i can use it, logical.
But if i die and delvl, i wont do any dmge with that weapon, so i need to re-equip my old weapon.

Don't throw away your old equips untill you've got enough exp to be able to die.
